Our response to COVID-19

Our priority is the wellbeing and safety of people we support. We have a transparent and comprehensive approach against coronavirus.

Letter from Mary Curran, BelleVie Chief Care Officer

At BelleVie, the wellbeing of the people we support and that of our Wellbeing Support Workers is our biggest priority.

As elderly people and those with disabilities are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, we want to reassure the people we support, their families and our teams, that we are monitoring the situation closely to help manage risks of spreading the virus.

Our professional teams undergo comprehensive training in infection control, and we have also advised them to follow industry guidance on hygiene from the UK’s Public Health Authorities and World Health Organisation, particularly focussed around handwashing and other hygiene measures.

We have maintained good supplies of personal protective equipment during these challenging times. We have also provided additional equipment, such as masks and gowns, along with guidance on when and how to use them.

Furthermore, we are delighted to say that we are working in partnership with Systems Biology Laboratory, a local CIC (not for profit organisation) providing high quality, collaborative and clinically focused research. SBL is testing our Wellbeing Workers for COVID 19 on a weekly basis, enabling us to closely manage any risk of spreading the virus to people we support.

To ensure the highest standards of care and support possible, our central team meets daily to assess the situation and follow the latest advice and guidance from Government and Health Officials.

Our entire workforce is committed to ensuring that people we support remain safe throughout this challenging time.

Mary Curran, Chief Care Officer, BelleVie.
